Today we will teach you how to tie a tie, making your outfit even more elegant. Here are two tie knot options for you to make.

How to tie a full English knot

Wear the tie around your neck, leaving the wide end over your right shoulder. 

  • Then pull it around your neck, with the narrow end going down to the middle of your chest.
  • It should be face up, with you holding the wide end in your right hand.

Cross the wide end over the narrow end near the collar. 

  • Hold the narrow end in place with your left hand while passing the wide end over it.
  • Try to keep it where it overlaps the collar, keeping the knot tight. The tie here will look like a big X.

Tie a bow with the wide end inside the neck loop. 

  • Pull it towards your head and pass it through the portion tied around your neck.
  • Next, pull the wide end back down, over the neck loop, to tighten one side of the knot, it should be on top, as well as its outer side.

Pass the wide end under the knot. 

  • Take it from the left side of your chest and fold it behind the central knot.
  • Use your left hand to steady the wide end now it will be upside down and on your left side.

Thread the wide end around the neck for a symmetrical knot. 

  • Pass the wide end around the right side of the neck.
  • Advance from top to bottom, pulling it down from the right side.
  • The knot near the neck should have two symmetrical cones on both sides.

Pull the wide end over the front of the knot.

  • Fold it from right to left over the side of the knot.
  • The tie must be well adjusted, preventing the knot from having wrinkles or creases.
  • Hold it in place with your left hand so it doesn't come loose.

Pass the tie through the base of the neck loop. 

  • Tilt your head to make the process easier.
  • Once you've covered the front of the knot, fold the wide end and pull it around the neck.
  • The knot will be completely covered, leaving the tie aligned and uniform.

Pull the tie down around and in front of the knot. 

  • Take the wide end, with the outside facing forward.
  • Push it through the space between the knot and the portion of the tie that covers it.
  • Holding the narrow end, pull the knot toward the collar until it is snug enough to adjust.

How to tie a half English knot

Wear the tie around your neck, with the wide end on the right side. 

  • Place the narrow end over your left shoulder, with the end reaching the level of your navel.
  • Leave the wide end longer and on the right side of the body.

Pass the wide end of the tie over the narrow one. 

  • Firm the narrow end in place with your left hand.
  • Pull the wide end towards the left side, over the narrow one.
  • Overlap them near the collar, making it very tight, keeping them in place with your right hand.

Pass the wide end around the neck.

  • Use your left hand to pass the wide end of the tie through the base of the loop.
  • Pulling it completely and firming it well to leave it in place.
  • Wear the wide end on the left side so the pattern is facing outward.

Wrap the wide end around the back of the knot.

  • Pull the wide end to the right side, leaving it behind the narrow one.
  • Keep the tie firmly tightened, resting it on the back of the knot.
  • Squeeze it with your left hand and pull the wide end with your right hand.

Pull the tie around the front of the knot.

  • Take the wide end over the front of the knot, leaving a flat edge on top.
  • Squeeze it with your right hand, holding it in place.

Make a loop passing the wide end through the base of the space in the neck. 

  • Use your left thumb to push the wide end under the loop on your neck.
  • Pass it from the base, letting it rise above the tie knot.

Pass the end through the loop in front of the knot to tighten it. 

  • Guide the wide end into the space between the knot and the portion of the tie that covers it.
  • Use your thumb to help push it through the knot.
  • Firm the narrow end in place by pulling it close to the collar to tighten it.
