What happened to Neymar and Danilo?
If you stop to think about it, it was a great debut and two concerns. Last Thursday (24), Brazil made its debut in its game against Serbia. In that game, player Danilo suffered a medial ligament injury in his left ankle.
As the coach had already made all five substitutions, the right-back had to remain on the field until the end even though he was limping.
As for the player Neymar, during the game he had a challenge with Milenkovic, twisted his right ankle and suffered a lateral ligament injury and a small bone edema. According to Lasmar, Neymar suffered a ligament injury in his right ankle, with bone edema.
Danilo suffered an injury to the medial ligament in his left ankle. The Brazilian team's doctor said that the athletes are undergoing treatment.
Neymar's return to the World Cup with the Brazilian national team could be accelerated, but the same cannot be said about Danilo's situation. The forward has shown improvement in his right ankle injury and is expected to play against Cameroon, a game that will take place next Friday (02), but the full-back, on the other hand, is still suffering from the problem in his left ankle.
Danilo's injury, although not obvious, is different from Neymar's and more complex. Therefore, there are still doubts as to whether the full-back will be able to play in the round of 16 and whether he will still participate in the rest of the World Cup. According to the national team's medical department, Neymar's injury is to the lateral ankle ligament, causing more swelling and pain.
However, Danilo's injury was located in the medial ligament, on the inside of the foot, which causes more pain and less swelling, so it attracts less attention. However, the concern is much greater. Both players are undergoing full-time physiotherapy.
On his social media, player Neymar posted photos of himself doing the exercises and showing optimism about his recovery. The images, however, still show the striker's ankle with a lot of swelling.

The ankle edema was resolved with manual therapy by the national team's physiotherapists, which has already provided a greater sense of comfort. Danilo's injury does not appear to be as serious, but the treatment to alleviate the pain takes longer. Meanwhile, Neymar's problem does not have the severity of the effusion caused by the sprain as a parameter of severity.
After intensive treatment, in the first 48 hours, there was already satisfactory progress. The visible swelling takes longer to go down. In Danilo's case, although there is not as much swelling, the discomfort persists and prevents him from progressing to the next stages of the World Cup.
